Custom Packaging RFQ Checklist: Tubes, Carrier Tape and Reels

A clear request for quotation makes packaging proposals easier to compare. Use the checklist below to describe the part, handling process and acceptance requirements before discussing price. Leave unknown fields marked for review instead of guessing a specification.

Information for every enquiry

Component part number and drawing revision.
Maximum dimensions, tolerances, sensitive surfaces and orientation.
Photographs or an existing approved packaging drawing, where available.
Material restrictions and required electrical or compliance documentation.
Prototype and production quantities, delivery destination and requested schedule.

For packaging tubes

Include the loading direction, required profile, usable length, end-closure arrangement and any feeder or rack interface. Explain the problem being solved if replacing an existing tube. The supplier should review the internal fit rather than copy only the external dimensions.

For carrier tape and reels

Include width, pocket pitch, depth and orientation if already specified. Add feeder details, sealing method, proposed cover tape, reel dimensions and winding direction. Identify which items are fixed by the equipment and which may be proposed by the supplier.

Ask for comparable quotations

Request separate identification of tooling, samples and production supply where applicable. Confirm what drawings, sample trials and inspection records are included. Ask how changes to materials or dimensions will be reviewed. A lower price is not a like-for-like comparison if a required item has been excluded.
