Anti-Static SMD Carrier Tape with Custom Pockets
This embossed SMD carrier tape holds electronic components in individual pockets for storage, shipping and automated SMT feeding. PS, PC and PET options can be reviewed for ICs, LEDs, resistors, capacitors, connectors and sensors. Pocket geometry and ESD performance are selected around the component and packaging line.
The carrier tape forms the pockets; the cover tape closes them; the reel supports winding and feeding. These three items need to work together. A reel by itself does not locate each component or replace a correctly dimensioned carrier tape.

Information Needed for a Custom Carrier Tape Quote
- Part drawing: maximum length, width, height, lead details, tolerances and required pocket orientation.
- Tape configuration: width, pocket pitch and depth, plus any existing approved drawing or applicable packaging-standard requirements.
- Material and ESD: preferred resin, material restrictions, electrical acceptance criteria and required documentation.
- Sealing: cover-tape type, carrier material, sealing equipment and peel-force acceptance criteria.
- Winding and supply: reel dimensions, winding direction, required quantity and delivery destination.
Approve the Packaging Set Before Production
Trial actual components in sample pockets to check orientation, clearance and unloading. Then verify sealing and peeling on the intended equipment and confirm that the loaded tape advances through the feeder correctly. Agree the inspection method and acceptance criteria before approving the specification.
Review cover-tape options and SMD plastic reels alongside the carrier tape. Tape width alone does not confirm pocket fit, sealing compatibility or feeder performance.
SMD Carrier Tape Questions
Are anti-static and conductive carrier tapes interchangeable?
Do not substitute them based only on the product label. Specify the required electrical performance and test conditions, then confirm whether the proposed material meets that requirement.
Does one cover tape work with every carrier material?
Confirm the carrier material, cover-tape type and sealing method together. Assess seal and peel performance on the selected combination rather than assuming that matching widths guarantee compatibility.
Can you make pockets for irregular components?
Custom pocket length, width, depth and pitch can be reviewed from a drawing or sample. Include lead clearance and orientation constraints so that the proposed pocket supports both packing and unloading.
Is an 8–88 mm tape width range a guarantee of feeder compatibility?
No. Your equipment also needs to accept the pitch, pocket depth, reel and winding arrangement. Share the machine model and applicable drawing requirements for review.
