Product Description
PET Heat-Seal and Self-Adhesive Cover Tape
This PET cover tape is designed to close carrier-tape pockets during packaging of integrated circuits, capacitors, resistors, connectors and other surface-mount components. It is available as a heat-seal or pressure-sensitive self-adhesive tape, with customizable widths from 5.4 to 81.5 mm.
Performance Options
- Clear PET film provides visibility during inspection and machine setup.
- Heat-seal construction is intended for equipment using controlled heat, pressure and dwell time.
- Self-adhesive construction seals by pressure and does not require a heated sealing head.
- Anti-static functional layers are available for electrostatic-sensitive components.
- Custom width selection supports narrow and wide embossed carrier tapes.

Values are reference specifications and should be confirmed for the selected construction and production lot. Actual sealing conditions must be adjusted to the carrier material, equipment and target peel force.
Applications
Suitable for tape-and-reel packaging of SMD components such as ICs, inductors, transformers, capacitors, resistors and connectors. The sealed package helps reduce contamination, static exposure and mechanical movement during storage, shipping and automated assembly.
What to Provide for Selection
Send the carrier-tape material and width, required cover-tape width, sealing method, equipment conditions, target peel force and order quantity. Samples can then be selected for compatibility testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which option is easier to set up?
Self-adhesive tape avoids heat settings, while heat-seal tape is commonly selected for controlled high-volume processes. The correct choice depends on the packaging line.
Is a trial required?
Yes. A sealing and peel-force trial is recommended before volume production.
