Product Description
5.4–81.5 mm Cover Tape for Tape-and-Reel Packaging
This transparent cover tape seals SMD and semiconductor components inside embossed carrier-tape pockets. Heat-seal and self-adhesive constructions are available for different packaging equipment, throughput and peel requirements. Widths from 5.4 to 81.5 mm can be reviewed for use with compatible carrier tape.
Heat-Seal or Self-Adhesive?
| Option | How it seals | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Heat-seal cover tape | Adhesive layer bonds under controlled temperature, pressure and dwell time | Stable high-volume tape-and-reel packaging |
| Self-adhesive cover tape | Pressure-sensitive layer seals without heating | Flexible setups or equipment without a heat-seal station |
Product Features
- Transparent PET/PS construction supports visual inspection of packaged components.
- Anti-static treatment options are available for sensitive electronic parts.
- Consistent sealing and peel behavior supports smooth downstream component removal.
- Widths can be matched to carrier tape used for ICs, capacitors, resistors, connectors and other SMD parts.
- Available for custom specification review, samples and repeat B2B supply.

Compatibility Check
Cover tape performance depends on the carrier-tape material, sealing equipment and target peel force. Send the carrier-tape material and width, cover-tape width, sealing method, machine conditions and expected annual volume. Trial sealing and peel testing are recommended before mass production.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one cover tape work with every carrier tape?
No. Adhesion varies with carrier material and surface condition. Compatibility should be confirmed by a sample trial.
Can you supply the carrier tape and reel together?
Yes. The complete tape-and-reel configuration can be reviewed as one packaging system.
